You cant make it feel right, when you know its wrong

How long can u hold on to something? There are times when you know things are not going right and a part of you tells you to let go and move on and then when you’re all prepared to do so ..you hear these voices inside your head telling you to stick with it and put up with the process. You opt for the easier way out ..and u agree. In a way, you test yourself ..”things might get fine, just some more days” ..you tell yourself. Day in and out, you come up with stuff to console yourself and make yourself believe that everything will be back to normal. Patience, that’s all you need.
Sadly, that’s not all ..Its a massive thing..this P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E.

So yeah, how long do you put up with this? The breaking point is bound to occur one day or the other..When u just can’t take it anymore. You’ve tested your patience enough. At the end, whats happened? Situations are the same, nothing’s changed, its just you who’s more screwed up than ever.

This is the time, to get up..dust yourself and just let go. That one moment which makes u realise that you’ve been tightly holding on to something which was just not yours and maybe isn’t meant to be. A difficult phase but the time when you realise that the breaking point has arrived gives you a weird kind of happiness. You feel liberated. All these days, you were caged by your own thoughts..Now you’re free.

The concluding factor of this whole ‘mess’ is change. It sucks. Atleast, I completely detest it. That’s why, I always prefer sticking to something more ‘comforting’..Something that is more familiar to me ..only to realise its better to move on and let things be ..because im no one to change the way a person feels.

Well said! And breaking out of your comfort zone is really tough. It's tough for me too!

So true..'Change' is one of the most important and constant thing. I think, sometimes in life, you have to stand up, listen to your head and stop tolerating nonsense. You will feel "liberated".

I know what your talking about. My recent blog post deals with the same thing.
You're chasing something you've convinced is the bets for u.
or else u've chased it for so long, you feel stupid about turning back now.
But if u wait a little longer, it might get harder.
At the end of the day, what doesn't make your heart happy isn't worth it.
I wish you would shared the context in which this blog post is written :)

But how can you let go if you should. What if holding on to it seems to be easier than letting go?

Yemiledu said...

True there comes a freedom when we let go off the ONE/thing that was never meant to be for us....

But this freedom is so SCARY initially(-hopefully) and surely doesnt come without a wound on in our hearts....hmmm atleast thats how I feel...

@Shruti: hmm and u need immense strength to make yourself stop tolerating nonsense!

@Lavender: yeah, i read it. well, its actually based on a general pattern i've observed in my life. but yeah, recently stuff happened which made me think about it more. too long ..shall save it for another post :P

@divinediu: holding on is no doubt an easier option but u need to know when it crosses that thin line beyond which it becomes difficult to tolerate.

@Yemiledu: initially, its really scary and painful. true ..

hey..tht was a good post yaa! i guess letting go of most things involves a lot of strength...emotional strength rather. and it mostly gets worse when da conflict is with urself..as in when u r confused about whether u really want 2 let go or whether u want 2 stay safer for just sum more time. but from personal experience it feels great 1ce u r out of the messed up state...n its really an achievement worth being proud of i guess!! :)
